Hydrogen sulfide removal

In natural-, synthesis-, refinery- and biogas it is possible to find the strong smelling toxic and flammable hydrogen sulphide. It is possible to biologically remove hydrogen sulphide from gas streams and to recover it in the elemental sulphur. With this new process it is possible to do this in a simple one step process.

Process of hydrogen sulfide removal

In the THIOPAQ O&G process hydrogen sulfide can be removed from gas streams in a biological way. This process works with at a temperature of 30-40 °C and under ambient pressure which leads to more safety. During this process the gas will in the first go through an absorber, followed by a bioreactor and as final step a sulphur handling section. The hydrogen sulfide is removed and recovered when the gas has gone through these three different sections.

The risks of H2S being present in natural, refinery, synthesis and biogas are removed and the natural gas is purified to the standards that are required for sale.

Paqell's THIOPAQ O&G offers hydrogen sulfide removal and recovery in a single step wherever CO2 removal is not required or biological sulphur recovery only, treating the off gas of an upstream amine unit. Safe, simple and stable.
